Tangix TesterPRO Client is supported on the following operating systems:
Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the operating systems are supported.
Administrator rights are normally not required to install and run Tangix TesterPRO Client. However, your system administrator may have configured your system in such way as administrator rights are need. Please check with your IT-support staff if you experience problems installing or running the application. By default, the Tangix TesterPRO Client application is installed to your Desktop and does not require any modifications of the Registry or other system files.
Memory requirements are low and depending on the exam contents. Typically about 75MB of available memory for the application is recommended. Tangix TesterPRO application takes less than 50MB of hard-disk space.
Minimum screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels. Multiple monitor configurations are supported.
The contents of the exam is downloaded over the Internet and the Tangix TesterPRO Client application requires access to the Internet. The Internet connection is only used before the exam is started to download the contents and after finishing the exam to upload the results. The Tangix TesterPRO Client application uses standard functions of the operating system to communicate with the Internet. If you are using a dial-up modem (phone or cell-phone) it is recommended that you make sure that the connection is active before finishing the exam as the connection may have timed-out.
Internet connection is normally not a problem, but depending on your filewall solution you may be required to add the following URL:s to your firewall's list of allowed URL:
Please check your firewall's documentation on how to add these addresses. If Tangix TesterPRO Client application is unable to communicate with the server a message will be displayed to indicate this.
Tangix TesterPRO Client supports Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol (WPAD) as implemented in Windows XP or later (including the auto-discovery method). However, certain proxy configurations could cause problems to communicate properly. If this is the case, add the URL:s to the list of "By-pass Proxy for these addresses" (or the equivalent for your proxy solution). See more information here.
All Operating System Languages are supported. Tangix TesterPRO Client is localized in several languages, selectable when starting the application. If the language of the Operating System matches a language that Tangix TesterPRO Client supports, that language is selected by default when the application starts.
The user interface language does not automatically mean that the exam content is available in the selected language.
Starting January 1st 2016, software needs to be code-signed using an algorithm that is not available on Windows XP. This algorithm is known as "SHA2" or "SHA256". To be compatible with Windows Vista and later applications need to be signed using SHA256 starting January 1st 2016.
Version 8.0.7 and later of Tangix TesterPRO Client, the application will only be signed using SHA256 and Windows XP will report Certification signature error when running on Windows XP.
When downloading certificates or export-files from the Certification Centre, Adobe Acrobat Reader (or compatible software) is required to open the certificates. Export of team information is made in Microsoft Excel 2007 file-format and Excel 2007 is thus required. Excel 2003 is supported after installation of the File Format Compatibility package provided by Microsoft for Office 2003.
